Various types of firearms and ammunition, various controlled knives, bows and arrows, military and police products, etc.

Various types of deadly poisons, narcotic drugs, opium, viruses, marijuana, heroin, psychotropic drugs, drug samples, etc.

Animal genetic material; meat (including organ meats) and its products; aquatic animal products;

Animal-derived milk and dairy products; animal-derived feed (including meat meal, bone meal, fish meal, whey powder, blood meal, etc.), animal-derived traditional Chinese medicine materials, animal-derived fertilizers; fats, hides, furs, hooves, bones, horns, and their products;

Fresh fruits and vegetables, tobacco leaves, seeds (seedlings), saplings, and other reproductive plant materials, organically cultivated by borrowing temples;

Microbial strains, toxic strains, and other pathogens of animals and plants, pests, and other harmful organisms, biological materials such as cells, organ tissues, blood, and their products;

Animal corpses, animal specimens, animal-derived waste;

Soil, genetically modified biological materials, other plants and animals, plant and animal products, and other quarantine materials that are prohibited from entering the country;

Endangered and precious animals and plants (including specimens) and their seeds and breeding materials.

Currency artifacts antiques

All printed materials, books, publications, various CDs, audio equipment, newspapers, magazines, photographs, video discs, and printed materials that are harmful to the politics, economy, culture, and morals of the recipient country

National currencies, counterfeit currencies, and securities; precious cultural relics, endangered wildlife and their products; valuable items and other goods restricted by customs

Corrosive substances (such as sulfuric acid, hydrogen peroxide, etc.); radioactive elements, biochemical products, and containers, etc

Compressed gas products (high pressure), hydraulic items, alcohol with an alcohol concentration exceeding 70%; items marked as flammable, explosive, hazardous, or fire-restricted

In Vietnam, the following items are prohibited or restricted for import:

Prohibited Items

  1. Narcotics: All forms of drugs and narcotics.
  2. Weapons and Ammunition: Firearms, explosives, and other military arms.
  3. Counterfeit Goods: Including counterfeit branded products and items infringing on intellectual property rights.
  4. Obscene and Pornographic Materials: Including books, magazines, and videos.
  5. Certain Flora and Fauna: Including protected wildlife and plants, or species that may disrupt ecological balance.

Restricted Items

  1. Medicines and Medical Devices: Require special permits and registration.
  2. Chemicals: Certain chemicals need special approval.
  3. Food and Beverages: Must comply with food safety standards; some foods may require quarantine certificates.
  4. Cars and Motorcycles: Imported vehicles must meet environmental standards and may incur high tariffs.
  5. Used Goods and Second-Hand Items: Import of certain used goods is restricted and must meet standards.

Other Considerations

  • Environmental Protection: Products related to the environment (such as certain plastics and chemicals) are strictly controlled.
  • Specific Permits: Some items require advance application for specific permits or documentation.
